The Brand Dame

Where Have You Gone, Joe DiMaggio?

Lyn Chamberlin

Dear Reader,

Lest you think I've been loafing, lazy or just plain abandoned my dear ol' newsletter -- VOILA! Drum roll, please. I am delighted to unveil my new and improved enewsletter; in fact the whole team has undergone a major facelift.

Check-out skyepr.com and then stroll around the bases to The Brand Dame blog. Whatever satisfaction I felt for having created these pieces myself, it had definitely worn-off. I simply had to hand it over to folks who knew what they were doing.

A want to do a big ballpark wave to Jessica Albon and her team at The Write Exposure. I've worked with many a designer in my time and have never had such a productive, collaborative and totally customer-focused experience. Especially given that I am extremely fussy when it comes to how my brand looks and feels. What a surprise. Thanks for hitting this one out of the park, Jessica.

It's been a busy spring of speaking and branding workshops. Because so many people asked me how they would work with me individually, I have started offering Branding for Individual, Small Business & Entrepreneur programs. These affordable, 4-week programs take you from beginning to end in developing a memorable, marketable brand for yourself or your small business. Email me for more information.

Creating That All-Important BUZZ!

John Jantsch is a marketing and digital technology coach, award winning social media publisher and author of "Duct Tape Marketing -- The World's Most Practical Small Business Marketing Guide" His Duct Tape Marketing Blog was chosen as a Forbes favorite for small business and marketing and is a Harvard Business School featured marketing site. His blog was also chosen as "Best Small Business Marketing Blog" in 2004, 2005 and 2006 by the readers of Marketing Sherpa.

He's offering a terrific freebie -- The Word of Mouth Manual -- that you can download for free.

I like it because it gets one thinking about the most powerful of all marketing tools -- word-of-mouth endorsements and referrals; one that is almost impossible to buy.

My 4th of July Resolutions:

  1. To get beyond the Wednesday New York Times Crossword puzzle.
  2. To teach my daughter how to finish the Monday and Tuesday puzzles.
  3. To publish my e-newsletter more often than sporadically.
  4. To blog more often than I play tennis.
  5. To eat only what can be cooked on a grill through Labor Day.

Have a great start of summer!
